Reflections on Joining the MWC Project
When I joined the MWC project in January – as it forked from Grin, mere weeks after its launch – I had no idea such a project could be operated so smoothly; or, that the Mimblewimble story would so quickly catch on.
Mimblewimble's Growing Popularity
Six months later, Grin and Beam have been amongst the best performing altcoins, despite a very weak altcoin environment - and despite the relentless spread of misinformation, it couldn’t be clearer Mimblewimble is rapidly becoming a MAJOR crypto investment meme.
Successful Airdrop Registration
The final tally of BTC registered, a whopping 148,474, was far beyond our wildest hopes – easily, more than 1% of the entire Bitcoin float. As six million MWC will be airdropped, this represents an (unofficial) MWC/BTC ratio of 40.4.
I can’t recall a single person claiming they couldn’t register – and when MainNet launches in the fourth quarter, hundreds of zero-cost MWC holders will be able to recognize real value… that will be significantly more if they hold for the two million “MWC HODL” dividends that will be distributed over time.
Next Steps: MainNet Launch
Now that airdrop registration is complete, it’s time to focus on finalizing the code, launching MainNet, and creating additional value through coding, marketing, and building community – around the inevitable growth of Mimblewimble technology.
