We are pleased to announce the release of MWC Node 4.0.0-beta.1. The release can be downloaded from our github repo. This release is the first to support inbound TOR connections. Currently, this feature is disabled by default, but in future releases, we intend to make this the default way that a node is configured. An overview of this feature, including all information about how to install, configure, and upgrade can be found in the repo as well.

Inbound TOR connections are important because they make it so that any user can allow inbound connections to their node, without router configurations, securely and privately. We believe making this as easy as possible for all users will greatly improve the durability and indestructibility of the network. After all, if it's not known where the network is operating, it would presumably be harder to attack and if a user's ISP, or any third party for that matter, doesn't know that the user is running an MWC node or wallet at all, it would be harder to target and identify MWC users based on their traffic patterns.
